An expedition ship reaches the parts of the continent roads never did: the fjords below Tierra del Fuego where glaciers stand at the waterline, Cape Horn on one of the mornings it lets anyone land, and channels whose only traffic is a condor working the ridge.
Spend your days between Zodiac landings and long hours on deck, then come back each evening to the same cabin, which is how a week afloat covers country a week on land cannot.
