Today we will embark on a captivating city tour, immersing ourselves in the rich history and architectural wonders of Lima's iconic sites like the grandeur of Plaza de Armas and historic Cathedral. During the afternoon we will learn about the vibrant Inca culture at the renowned Larco Museum. The evening will unfold with a mesmerizing display of the Water Circuit followed by a glass of Pisco Sour and local petit-bouchées at a traditional Peruvian tavern.

Cusco|Travel to Cusco|City tour & Ruins at Pukare and Saqsaywaman

Cusco (Sacred Valley)|Visit Pisac's market and Ollantaytambo
Today we will explore the Sacred Valley (9,350 ft) and experience the rich colors of its traditional towns and ruins. Our first stop after a scenic drive will be Pisac's colorful market a great opportunity to practice your bargaining skills! After lunch, we will tour the town of Ollantaytambo and visit the site of the beautiful rose-colored stone ruins where the Incas fought the Spaniards. Return to Cusco in the late afternoon.

Day 5
Machu Picchu|Guided exploration of Machu Picchu
Early morning transfer to board the train to the awe-inspiring destination of Machu Picchu (elevation nearly 7,900 feet). This scenic trip offers great views of the mountains, river, and sometimes a glance at the awesome Condor. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, you will begin a guided tour of Machu Picchu. Concluding our exploration, we will return to the charming town, allowing you to unwind or shop at the local market.

Cusco|Self guided hike to Huayna Picchu|Travel to Cusco
Free morning to go back to the ruins and delve deeper into its mysteries or embark on a thrilling hike up either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. As the afternoon unfolds, we shall make our return to the vibrant city of Cusco by train, traversing the scenic landscapes along the Urubamba River.

Puno|Travel through the Andean Highlands to Puno|Free to explore Puno
Today we will travel by land from Cusco to Puno. The drive will offer breathtaking views of Peru’s high-country landscapes. Along the way, we will stop at Andahuaylillas, famous for its colonial church adorned with stunning frescoes; Racchi, home to ancient Incan ruins; and Pucara, renowned for its intricate ceramics. This journey promises a captivating blend of natural beauty and captivating historical sites.

Puno (Lake Titicaca)|Uros floating islands|Explore Taqule Island
Morning boat journey on of Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake for large vessels. Our first destination is the fascinating floating reed island of the Uros Indians - built upon layers of totora reeds. Afterwards, we will travel to the remote Taquile Island. Here, the echoes of the Inca civilization reverberate through the preservation of the Quechua language by its islanders and handcrafted artwork. Return to Puno in the later afternoon.

Activity Levels

level 1 - easier

Activities: scenic drives, canoe rides, walks up to 1 hour. Trail conditions: cobblestones, pavement, gravel, or dirt paths. Some days require extended walking.

LEVEL 2 - MODERATE

Most travelers can join level 2 adventures without prior experience. Being generally fit is important. Activities include short hikes up to 3 hours, sea kayaking in calm waters, and rafting on Class I-II rapids.

LEVEL 3 - ACTIVE

Includes 3-6 hours of daily physical activity, like rafting and wilderness camping. Hikes cover 8-10 miles, including steep ascents or descents. Rafting features Class III rapids.

LEVEL 4 - CHALLENGE

Hikes up to 14 miles. Rugged terrain, exposure risk, altitudes over 10,000 ft. Rafting: Class IV-V rapids. Kayaking: 4-5 hrs daily, open water with waves and tides.

LEVEL 5 - extreme

For experienced adventurers. Trekking without vehicle support in rugged terrain above 10,000 feet. Long hikes, up to 12 hours, with significant altitude changes. Rafting in: Class IV-V rapids. Experience and doctor's certificate required.
